Haiti Relief

In response to the disaster in Haiti, this is what the Living Water family is doing.  Please pray with me for the tens of thousands who have been displaced and devastated.  

Living Water cares about the 7.0 earthquake which struck Haiti on January 12^th. Our hearts go out to the Haitian people affected by this tragedy. As a church we encourage you to respond to this situation in the following ways:

• Pray for Haiti using these prayer points.
• Participate in the Living Water Haiti Relief Offering or give a special gift in a regular offering.
• Consider going to Haiti with Living Water's Relief Team.
• Check out the Foursquare Missions (FMI) webpage for news about
  Foursquare relief efforts and Foursquare missionaries in Haiti and the surrounding areas.
• Pray for Living Water Missionaries to the Dominican Republic Rich and Kirsten Root.

Prayer Points

• Pray for the people of Haiti as they deal with the aftermath of the earthquake, ask the Lord to comfort those who are injured and mourning.
• Pray for rescue efforts to find survivors trapped in destroyed buildings and for communication links and power supplies to be restored quickly.
• Pray that the country of Haiti would have a receptiveness to the message of the Gospel in the midst of this tragedy.
• Pray for the relief efforts of the Foursquare family and the Foursquare missionaries in the area that they would have wisdom to know how to minister to those around them.
• Pray for a swift and generous response from the international community to help this disaster-prone poor country.

Exciting News From The City Church

I love seeing God do great things everywhere in the church at large.  This week is an exciting week for The City Church in Kirkland, WA as they begin a transition to a new season of leadership under Judah and Chelsea Smith.  I am a big admirer of The City from afar and pray God's continued blessing for their church and especially their soon to be new leaders... The City Church announced today that Judah and Chelsea Smith will become the church's Lead Pastors in September 2009 and will begin immediately transitioning into their new leadership role. The Smiths served as the church's youth pastors for seven years and in January 2009 Judah Smith became the church's Preaching Pastor.  Read More...

Biden forgets his website "number"

It strikes me as a little odd that on one had we've got the "blackberry" president Obama who can't live without his mobile device; and on the other hand we've got vice president Biden who can't remember his website "number".  Where did these two meet?  This clip is getting tons of hits on YouTube and is cause for the VP to be a little embarrassed.  I wonder if he's ever heard of YouTube...

Happy Sunday Afternoon

What a great weekend at Living Water!  I got to preach at 4 service at 2 different campuses.  There was great worship and great crowds.  Most importantly God moved in people's life, the Word was spoken and I pray that lives will be changed. Bellow are a couple of my favorite thoughts from the message.

• If your life was a race, how would you assess your running?
• Could you imagine if Mary Lou would have reported to training camp with a box of Krispy Kreme?
• Does Jesus want to eliminate everything that I enjoy from my life?
• NO, but He is adamant that you exchange your priorities and preferences for Kingdom ones.
• Some of the decline in the church in the America can be attributed to the fact that too many churches preach a cheap Gospel where sin is not mentioned and sacrifice is not expected.
• Issues of Forgiveness and Grace are settled, never let anyone tell you that you are competed for those or have to earn those gifts.
