This year has already been an exciting year at Living Water. The word to our church, "Expect an Encounter" has prompted all of us to ready our hearts for whatever God wants to do. I've talked to several people who are struggling with feeling like they don't deserve to "expect" anything from God.
If you've been thinking this way or have friends that are, this will encourage you.
- First, We need to express gratitude to God for who He is and what He has done in our lives. That's why worship and surrender are the best ways we can position ourselves to "expect". Remember, before we should ask for anything, we should worship Him because He is everything.
- Expectation stems from believing we serve an AWESOME God who WANTS to include me in His plan. (Ephesians 2:10)
- I DO NOT feel entitled to His love, but I RECEIVE it with gratitude and humility. (Ephesians 2:4, 5)
- The more we understand how AWESOME He is, the greater excitement and expectation is naturally rise in our heart as we look to Him to move in our lives, families and community. (Ephesians 3:20, 21)
- We serve a loving and grace filled God who has saved us and called us with a holy calling. He gives us His Holy Spirit to empower us to live with boldness. His Spirit is IN US. (Ephesians 1:13, 14)
Choose this day to live with His love and purpose in mind - and expect an encounter.
